About Hayajudo
Hayabusakan Judo League, founded by Justin Chan, aims to foster competitive judo among young athletes aged 6 to 13 in Ontario. Sanctioned by Judo Ontario and Judo Canada, this league introduces children to the sport through a modified version of traditional “Red and White” tournaments, categorizing participants by age and gender for ages 10 and above. With four monthly tournaments held across different regions of the province, Hayabusakan provides a platform for young judokas to hone their skills and compete in a supportive environment.
Project Overview: The project centered on developing a website for Hayabusakan Judo League to streamline communication, facilitate registration, and provide information about tournaments and participating clubs. The website aimed to serve as a central hub for parents and young athletes interested in joining the league and accessing resources for judo training.

Conducting a comprehensive needs assessment, we engaged in thorough discussions with Hayabusakan Judo League to gain insights into their objectives, target audience, and desired functionalities for the website. Subsequently, our team conceptualized a custom design that encapsulated the essence of judo while maintaining a kid-friendly and accessible aesthetic, resonating with both young athletes and their parents. Leveraging WordPress CMS and a combination of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript technologies, we developed a dynamic and user-friendly website, facilitating easy navigation and efficient access to essential information. Furthermore, we integrated features to showcase details about monthly tournaments, including dates, locations, and registration procedures, ensuring participants and parents remained informed and engaged. Additionally, by leveraging Judo Ontario’s Find A Club tool, we seamlessly integrated a club finder feature into the website, enabling visitors to locate participating clubs nearest to them and explore information about joining and training opportunities.

The collaboration between Hayabusakan Judo League and our team resulted in the successful launch of a user-friendly and informative website that serves as a valuable resource for young judokas and their parents across Ontario. With its intuitive navigation, comprehensive tournament information, and club finder tool, the website empowers young athletes to engage with the sport of judo, fostering a sense of community and providing opportunities for growth and development in the martial arts arena.
